When it comes to retirees and Florida, it’s pretty much a match made in heaven. Throughout the entire state, there are numerous cities to enjoy. Here, we are going to look at two of them. Namely, Naples and Bonita Springs. For starters, on the entire planet, you will not find better weather. Even in the winter months, the skies are sunny and clear. But it doesn’t stop there. You’ll find exciting attractions, gorgeous scenery, and much, much more.
Whether you’re relaxing by the pool, fishing, playing a round of golf, or enjoying one of the other numerous pastimes available, you might want to first consider the following question: Which of the two previously mentioned cities are best? Let’s take a look at Bonita Springs vs. Naples.
Cost-Of-Living/Properties
Between Bonita Springs and Naples, one of the larger differences, which is relatively obvious to anyone who looks into it, are property prices. Naples properties, per square foot, are comparatively pricier than some other Southwest regions (including Bonita Springs). Fortunately, while single-family homes may be more expensive, condos are far less so. You may also choose to look into one of the retirement communities in the area, as well.
Between the two destinations, however, the cost of living is relatively the same. Bonita Springs may have less expensive shops and restaurants, but only marginally.
Water Access
As long as you’re in a coastal region of Florida – and there are many – you’re by the water. There are also many lakes throughout the state if you are not on the outer edges. It’s hard to find an area that doesn’t have some kind of water access in Naples. Regularly, Naples property owners enjoy many of the pastimes that go along with water such as snorkeling, swimming, surfing, boating, fishing, etc.
You can still include beach time, however, if you live in Bonita Springs. To get to the Gulf of Mexico’s white-sand beaches, however, you simply might have to drive a bit further.
Tourism/Attractions
Tourists, on a regular basis, visit Naples more than Bonita Springs. Including pier and beach access, the number of tourist attractions in Naples is greater. Naples’ biggest highlights and landmarks include a world-class shopping district, five impressive museums, Vanderbilt Beach, Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens, Naples City Pier, Tin City Fisherman’s Wharf, and more.
Size/Population
Possibly the biggest difference of all between the two cities is the size. Of the two destinations, the better-known is Naples. So, people automatically think it’s bigger and more populated. This is not the case. A much larger population resides in Bonita Springs. Almost 40,000 people call Bonita Springs home, while roughly 20,000 residents live in Naples.
For the record, these two cities are a mere 15 miles from one another.
